TUL & TUL32 KNX/IP Gateway

Firmware for the busware TUL (ESP32-C3) and TUL32 (ESP32-C6) USB sticks. Bridges the KNX TP bus and your IP network: KNXnet/IP routing & tunneling (up to 10 concurrent tunnels), web dashboard, Wi-Fi setup via Improv. The TUL32 can optionally use wired ethernet through a W5500 module on its FPC header.

Works only in Chrome, Edge or Opera on a desktop computer — Safari and Firefox do not support the Web Serial API.

You do not have to choose: the installer detects which stick is connected. The bus-powered TULX has no USB port and installs firmware through its recovery system — see install.busware.de/tulx/.

Installation
  1. Plug the stick into a USB port of this computer.
  2. Click “Connect”. A dialog opens in which you select the stick's serial port (typically /dev/ttyACM0 or COMx).
  3. Choose “Install ip4knx…” to write the firmware.
  4. After flashing, the tool stays open and offers Wi-Fi setup via Improv (enter SSID and password right in the browser). Alternatively, a stick without stored Wi-Fi credentials opens the access point “TUL AP xxxx”; join it and set up Wi-Fi in the captive portal (http://192.168.4.1). Holding the button for more than 2 s opens the access point again later.
  5. The dashboard is then reachable at http://tul.local or at the address your router assigned.
Updating: a stick that already runs ip4knx updates itself over the network and keeps its settings — dashboard, card “Firmware & System”, Online Update → Check for Updates. Installing from this page resets the stored settings (Wi-Fi and KNX configuration); the stick then has to be set up again.
